TECHNICAL TEAM REPORT: IMPACTS OF GROWTH AND CLIMATE CHANGE ON WATER SUPPLY RELIABILITY AND RIVER HEALTH IN THE SACRAMENTO REGION


The Water Forum team presents preliminary results from a study to identify the projected impacts of climate change and growth on the Sacramento region’s water supply reliability and river health through the year 2025, using current conditions and historical events for comparison.

LEARNING & ENGAGEMENT SESSION #1: HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS
This session provides information about our water resources and water system, including background about the American River watershed, Folsom Reservoir, the Groundwater System, Municipal Water Supply System and Future Plans for building water supply reliability.

WATER FORUM PLENARY MEETING HOSTED DECEMBER 6, 2021
This session reviewed progress in 2021, provided an overview of the Study Plan Analysis and laid a foundation for further discussion.

WATER FORUM 101 SESSION
This session intended to provide an introduction to the Water Forum for potential new Public Caucus members interested in being a part of Water Forum II negotiations. In addition to learning about the Water Forum and its efforts to expand and diversify the Public Caucus, participants discussed their interests, the nexus with Water Forum and their organizations, and potential challenges and barriers to participation. The meeting, held the evening of February 24, 2021, gave current Water Forum members and potential new Public Caucus members a chance to get to know each other and the organizations they represent.

NEGOTIATING STEERING COMMITTEE BRIEFINGS
The NSC conducted several briefings, as part of the initial educational phase of the Water Forum II process. The purpose of these sessions was to establish a shared understanding about relevant issues that will inform various elements of the Water Forum II Agreement. In the summer of 2020, the NSC convened special briefings for Water Forum members and others on climate change, fisheries, groundwater and surface water interaction, and state requirements related to water conservation and urban water management planning. Climate Change
This presentation was the first briefing, as part of the educational phase of the Water Forum II Negotiating Steering Committee (NSC) process. This sessions intended to establish a shared understanding about cross-cutting issues, such as climate change, that will inform various elements of the Water Forum II Agreement.


Fisheries
This presentation was the second briefing, as part of the educational phase of the Water Forum II Negotiating Steering Committee (NSC) process. This session intended to promote a shared understanding about fisheries to inform various elements of the Water Forum II Agreement.


Groundwater
This presentation was the third briefing, as part of the educational phase of the Water Forum II Negotiating Steering Committee (NSC) process. This session intended to promote a shared understanding of groundwater to inform various elements of the Water Forum II Agreement. The session is split into four parts: Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA), Regional Modeling, South American and Cosumnes Subbasins, and Water Accounting Framework. Regulatory
This presentation was the fourth briefing, as part of the educational phase of the Water Forum II Negotiating Steering Committee (NSC) process. This session intended to promote a shared understanding of water conservation and water use to inform various elements of the Water Forum II Agreement.


Flow Management Standard
This presentation was the fifth briefing, as part of the educational phase of the Water Forum II Negotiating Steering Committee (NSC) process. This session intended to promote a shared understanding of the Modified Flow Management Standard (FMS) to inform various elements of the Water Forum II Agreement.
